Çimsa becomes the Third Largest Producer in the Global CAC Market with its New Production Facility

Çimsa, one of the global brands of the Sabancı Group, has completed and commissioned its new production facility investment worth 45 million dollars in addition to its existing CAC production capacity. Çimsa became the third largest producer in the global CAC market with the new investment, which increased the CAC clinker production capacity at the Mersin plant from 65 thousand tons to 131 thousand tons per year.

The first and only Calcium Aluminate Cement (CAC) producer in Türkiye, Çimsa’s new production facility, which was realized with an investment of 45 million dollars at the Mersin Plant, was commissioned after the successful completion of trial production and testing processes. In line with the innovation and investment strategies of Sabancı’s subsidiary Çimsa, the production capacity of CAC clinker has increased from 65 thousand tons to 131 thousand tons annually with this new facility at the Mersin Plant. Çimsa has become the third largest CAC producer in the global market with this significant investment.

Çimsa aims to reinforce its leadership in the sector by focusing on CAC, which is used as the main input in construction chemicals and refractory production. Çimsa is the sole producer of CAC in Türkiye which has a wide range of applications from marine structures to airports, from sewage systems to industrial floors. This latest investment further has strengthened Çimsa’s impact in the sector by making it one of the largest producers in the global CAC market.

Çimsa CEO Umut Zenar made the following statement on the subject:

“As Çimsa, we are one of the world’s leading brands in white cement and specialty products such as CAC. We commissioned our new production facility with an investment of USD 45 million in CAC, a special product that we produce with our own raw material resources. We have become the third largest producer in the global CAC market with this investment, which has doubled Çimsa’s current CAC production capacity. As the only CAC producer in Türkiye, we will reach our CAC and special product customers directly from the Sabancı Technology Center in Munich to make the most efficient use of our increased production capacity. Furthermore, we will continue to offer tailored solutions to counter the technical support needs of the sector through this center. We will be closer to the markets that work with CAC and qualified special products, and provide a more effective service by reaching the customers who will use these products directly.”
