Çimsa, the global brand of Sabancı Group, has taken another major step in its sustainability process and obtained EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certificates for its low-carbon gray cement products. These important certificates were awarded for Çimsa’s new low-carbon IzoPower products manufactured at the Mersin, Eskişehir and Afyon plants.
Continuing to focus on new efforts to ensure the development of sustainable living spaces, Çimsa obtained EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certificates for its low-carbon gray cement products. These important certificates were awarded for Çimsa’s IzoPower 42.5 gray cement products manufactured at the Afyon, Eskişehir and Mersin plants, certifying their environmental performance.
Barış Karahüseyin, Deputy General Manager of Çimsa Gray Cement Marketing & Sales, said: “Our IzoPower product, which is produced in all our factories, now has EPD certification. These certificates manifest the environmental sensitivity of our products and our commitment to low-carbon production on an international platform. An EPD certificate is a document that transparently evaluates and verifies the environmental performance of products. Receiving this certification for our IzoPower product reflects our progress and firm commitment to developing products with low carbon emissions. These certificates issued by The International EPD System, verify Çimsa’s claim for environmentally friendly products at an international level. Although obtaining this certificate is not mandatory, as Çimsa, we are proud to obtain these certificates with the confidence we have in our products and the environment.”
Çimsa previously obtainned EPD certificates for its CAC and Super White products. Now, it is expanding its range of low-carbon and environmentally friendly products in the field of gray cement with IzoPower. These steps taken by Çimsa in sustainability and innovation once again demonstrate the importance of environmentally friendly production policies and international certification.
