At its first-ever supply chain event in Istanbul, Çimsa brought together industry professionals to share its sustainability roadmap. The event emphasized the need for a new culture of collaboration to achieve net-zero goals and fostered discussions on the future of supply chains.
Çimsa, a Sabancı Group company, hosted its first-ever supply chain event on December 13 in Istanbul. With strong participation from industry stakeholders, “Supply and Sustain” event focused on sustainability roadmaps in the building materials sector and the collective efforts required to reach future net-zero targets. The discussions centered on innovation, technology, and sustainability, laying the foundation for a series of similar gatherings in the years ahead.
“EXTENDING OUR IMPACT ACROSS THE ENTIRE SUPPLY CHAIN”
Çimsa CEO Umut Zenar highlighted that achieving net-zero has become a top priority for businesses today. He stated: “Regardless of the industries we operate in, the only way to drive lasting and meaningful change in sustainability is through collaboration. In today’s world, no institution—whether from the public sector, private sector, or academia—has the power to achieve this alone. What truly matters is aligning all our stakeholders under a shared vision and extending our impact as far as possible. This approach is at the core of Çimsa’s sustainability roadmap.
We are not just transforming our own operations and corporate culture with a focus on sustainability; we are embedding this mindset into every link of our supply chain. This event is a clear reflection of that vision. We hope to continue organizing similar initiatives to raise strong awareness and drive change in our country.”
“CONNECTING OUR FACILITIES, CUSTOMERS, AND DEALERS THROUGH DIGITAL NETWORKS”
Zenar also emphasized that Çimsa’s vision as a global company extends beyond production facilities and customer diversification: “Through our digital initiatives, we are creating connected networks between our facilities, customers, and dealers. This not only gives us a significant efficiency advantage but also helps us elevate the supply chain experience to a whole new level—especially in international trade, where the industry faces serious challenges. Today, we work with 2,200 suppliers in 29 countries, managing 80 sub-categories of products to ensure seamless and efficient deliveries. This is how we integrate our global company vision into our supply chain. More importantly, we are designing our supply chain with sustainability at its core, not just in terms of environmental impact but also by incorporating the social and governance aspects of ESG. We are extremely pleased to see that our suppliers have embraced this approach as well.”
